Disadvantages Of Cosmetic Bridges

Cosmetic bridges are teeth prosthesions that allow to be placed when one or two teeth in a row are absent. They are set on the edge teeth that serve as a support for fixation. It may overwhelm jaws and supporting teeth and such constructions are not stable.

3. Bridge does not allow to notice problems with supporting teeth in time. Usually bridges serve not more than 10 years.

4. The crowns on supporting teeth can get loose and form holes. Food will get into these holes and provoke caries appearance. So with time they will be need to be treated too.

5. Overwhelming of one part of jaw goes together with not enough activity in other part. It can lead to the bone atrophy.

6. Bridges provoke resorbing of the bone in the segments of missing teeth.

7. The bone tissue can get ruined so much that it may not allow to set an implant on this place. It will require bone grafting first.
